Glühwein (Hot Mulled Wine)

For a holiday punch that will warm your belly: hot red wine spiced with cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and fresh orange.


2 cups dry red wine

½ tsp allspice

4 - 5 whole cloves

1 medium orange, zested

Juice of 1 orange (yield: roughly ½ cup)

4 oz Cinnamon Keep It Simple Syrup


1Zest the orange and reserve a few pieces for use as a garnish.

2Cut orange in half and squeeze the juice out of it.

3Bring wine, allspice, cloves, orange juice, and remaining orange zest to a low simmer in a small pot.

4Strain into 2 heatproof mugs.

5Add Cinnamon KISS and garnish with orange zest.
