Cocktails - Rum Sugar Cane Cold/Room Temperature

Safety first! Cocktails second. Serve this New Orleans-inspired rum punch, made famous by Pat O'Brien's, in a traditional hurricane glass.

Ingredients

2 ounces light rum

2 ounces dark rum

2 ounces passion fruit juice

1 ounce orange juice

1 ounce Sugar Cane Keep It Simple Syrup*

½ ounce pomegranate juice

½ medium lime, juiced

orange slice and pitted fresh cherry for garnish

Directions

1For each drink, pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice.

2Shake well and strain into an ice-fillled, hurricane lantern-shaped glass.

3Use long toothpick to secure cherry in the middle of an orange slice, and balance on the edge of the glass.

If you weathered the storm safely, kick back and celebrate with a Hurricane Relief! This fruity classic is a New Orleans favorite. Mix light and dark rum with passion fruit, orange, and pomegranate juice for a beautiful, tropical hue. We replaced the maraschino cherry (yuk!) with a real one, and swapped out the grenadine with pomegranate juice, to keep it natural. We also bumped up the KISS factor to offset any tartness. *Experiment by substituting with your favorite KISS flavor variety.
